Jewels of Jazz CD

Towards the end of Stan Getz’s life he and Kenny Barron recorded a CD called “People Time”, this was a groundbreaking idea as there was no rhythm section. The two musicians explored the realm of quiet and sensitive performing in the art of duet playing, as opposed to the dynamic performance created by the larger Jazz ensembles. The Jewels of Jazz CD recorded in 2005 by Chris Gradwell and Andrew Daldorph explores the art of the Jazz duet further.

The Little Big Band

The Little Big Band - a wonderful 20's to 60's Jazz-dance band.

"Hit me with a HOT NOTE and watch me BOUNCE"

That quote from Duke Ellington describes perfectly The Little Big Band. The band play Swing, Bounce, Boogie Dixieland and Latin, Tango Rumba, Samba and Cha Cha for all kinds of functions.

Originally the band was formed as a result of two recordings which accompanied John Betjeman's poetry, with music composed by Jim Parker: Banana Blush and Late Flowering Love. The discs were a great success and were still being sold 20 years after they were published. Since those early days the band has developed music from the 20's to the 60's, from Dixieland to early swing. The band also accompanied Peter Skellern in many recordings and concert tours. It also appeared on the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium. At present the Little Big Band is based in Devon and has great success in presenting in concert, music from the early jazz repertoire.
